The DHW Manager is the operational heart of a WaterDrop system. It is a cloud-connected control platform designed to coordinate and optimize the performance of the entire domestic hot water plant. The system supports a wide range of configurations, including advanced staging programs and external pump-driven extension packages that allow the heat pump array to be located far from the primary storage tanks when necessary. A dedicated LTE connection keeps the system continuously connected to the cloud, providing real-time reporting on system status, performance, alarms, and maintenance needs.

In addition to managing equipment operation, the DHW Manager helps building owners optimize their energy costs. Through onboard programming and its LTE cloud connection, the system can schedule load-shifting strategies that reduce electricity consumption during peak utility rate periods. It can also create load-up events that take advantage of lower electricity rates by instructing the heat pumps to operate during off-peak periods, effectively storing low-cost thermal energy in the hot water tanks for later use.

The DHW Manager platform is designed to evolve as new capabilities emerge through cloud computing and thermal storage strategies. It supports custom programming and can coordinate multiple systems—such as an array of three or four WaterDrop “Droplets”—serving a single building load. Using a parent-and-child configuration, the Manager understands how each connected system operates and stages them intelligently to deliver optimal performance, efficiency, and reliability across the entire domestic hot water system.
